In summer, everyone tries to minimise their outdoor activities in the scorching heat. Whenever it becomes necessary to step out, we put on as much sunscreen as possible to prevent tanning and dull skin. It is essential to find a sunscreen with the right SPF that can effectively protect the skin from sun damage.
Most people are on the hunt to find a sunscreen that contains minimal to no chemicals and preservatives to protect the skin. But with no luck, they came up with a few expensive products. So, we have got a new DIY coconut oil sunscreen recipe you can easily make at home at an affordable price. Your skin will definitely fall in love with this organic formula.
Can Coconut Oil Be Used As Sunscreen?
Coconut oil cannot be used as a sunscreen alone, but if it is mixed with other ingredients such as almond oil, raspberry seed oil, zinc oxide, and essential oils, then yes, coconut oil can be used as a sunscreen.
Zinc oxide protects the skin from UVB and UVA rays. Raspberry seed oil has an SPF of 25, and coconut oil has an SPF of around 4 to 5. Combine all these ingredients to create an effective and powerful sunscreen to protect the skin from free radicals.
